In an expectedly thrilling face-off this Thanksgiving, the Dallas Cowboys (7-3) will be playing against their familiar NFC East adversary, Washington Commanders (4-7), at the AT&T Stadium – a location that’s been rather unwelcoming to visiting teams. The home-winning spree of Dallas stands at 12 games – setting a record for the longest active streak in NFL history and coming second-longest in franchise legacy. The match seems already tilted towards Dallas when you consider the unflattering scoring defense average of Washington Commanders—a meager 27.7 points per game—which is currently dubbed as being NFL’s worst defensive line-up this year. On contrastingly successful notes, however, are the Cowboys with an impressive rank as No. 2 team by scoring offense averaging out to about 30.2 points per game; trailing only behind Miami Dolphins’ leading tally—an infinitesimal difference off merely decimal three tenths! Historically speaking too—since Super Bowl era since ’66—in any matchup involving top-two offenses pitted against bottom-two defenses which have crossed tenth week into their seasonal schedule; unsurprisingly enough more than forty times it was offensive that came up triumphant reducing defense wins to bare digits of a meager two, and staying unbeaten in these comparable matches since 2012.
Highlighting again the power player from Dallas – All-Pro Micah Parsons and his leading team at defensive front. Flaunting an enviable NFL record of quarterback pressure rate (47.4%), they appear quite likely to up their game against Washington’s new starting QB—Sam Howell; whose first seasonal innings has already recorded highest sack count (51), despite only eleven games into it.
The objectives are clear, while Dallas aims to match strides with current NFC leaders Philadelphia Eagles (9-1); Washington continues its efforts for an underdog victory this Thanksgiving season.
