Austin Resident Charged in Fourth Active Drug-Related Case

Austin resident Casey Steven Bell has been charged with a list of offenses, adding up to his fourth active case involving drug-related charges. Bell, 25 years old, had charges filed against him in the Mower County District Court on Monday.

The seven allegations include two counts of third-degree felony drug possession and one count of fifth-degree felony drug possession. Additionally, he faces four gross misdemeanor charges including unlawful firearm and ammunition possession by an ineligible person, driving after cancellation dueled as opposed to public safety and second-degree DWI for refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Law enforcement officers found Bell unconsciousness at the wheel of his vehicle. Upon searching him and the vehicle that revealed several incriminating items such as drugs (Alprazolam among them), burnt tinfoils randomly scattered inside the car,a broken pipe recorded being on suspect’s lap while being unconscious , ammunition rounds .22 calibre revolver with a loaded round,cash also discovered alongside more pill tablets resembling IPOs,’M’30 imprinted blue pills known for recreational usage.

Bell was taken into custody but refused sobriety testing remarking that it wasn’t necessary.His refusal continued even when authorities presented warrant papers for urine or blood tests.He however recovered medically under supervision at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin.

While at the jail, authorities found a bottle on Bell’s person that included Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride pills (used for pain relief), Alprazolam, and Quetiapine which is usually prescribed to treat conditions such as schizophrenia.

In his past cases dating back to 2022 in Albert Lea, Casey was previously implicated when he was discovered in possession of M30 pills during executing a search warrant case.He had even been implicated selling M30 tablets to confidential informants.His record also includes him being found unconscious in his vehicle earlier this year with narcotics concealed.

Bell presently remains under custody where bail has been set for $100,000 without any stipulations or can opt pay $25k alongside stricter restrictions.His first appearance in court post recent charges would be staged for 11th December.Next proceedings including pre-trial hearings and scheduling conferences are slated for Jan 5th ,2024.Besides the ongoing drug related cases; Bell also bears convictions relating driving while impaired known from captures since ’19
